Hope you enjoyed our session! Change can be scary, but you are not alone. If you have any questions or comments related to anything you heard in our session post them here.
Think you’re ready? Get the ball rolling! Complete this Migration Assessment Form now before all the migration spots are gone!

We got a lot of great questions during the sessions. Here are the Q&As that we could not get to during the session:
Q: Presently we are on premise and Prophix seems to be slower than in the past, I need to run the declutter solutions that were shown in Prophix Red Carpet. If we were on cloud, would this declutter processes and database maintenance be automatically done by Prophix?
A: Our Cloud operations team regularly monitors Prophix for issues around services going down or Prophix being accessible, however we do not go into your Prophix instance to make changes, such as running an optimize process or other processes in Process Manager.
Q: What are our “client work items”? Is that report rebuilds?
A: Most of your files and processes will migrate to the cloud seamlessly. The client work involved is primarily around preparing your models for the migration, testing all your reports and files after the migration and validating the results of the rebuilt cloud integration.
Q: Does the cloud back-end still use SSAS/SSIS?
A: Prophix in the Cloud still uses Microsoft SQL Server and it’s tools as a part of the underlying architecture.
Q: What would be an estimated ballpark cost?
A: In terms of services - the typical cloud migration is approximately 2 weeks (10 days) of effort, including the time for the migration, testing and the rebuild of one migration. In order to provide a more accurate estimate, you will need to submit the migration assessment to give us more specific info on your models. You can find the assessment at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GCNW9QN
Q: What happens to on-premise users in January, 2022 from an upgrade/support perspective?
A: You will be able to continue using Prophix on-premise, however as of January 2022, there will be no more functionality upgrades for the on-premise software, outside of critical fixes.
Q: Will all historical data be brought to the cloud?
A: All data, files, cubes, etc. in your on-premise instance will be migrated to the cloud
Q: Does the browser cache any information? Is the data encrypted?
A: Browser caching is dependent on the browser, however a cached login will only work for a limited time as each Prophix instance is rebooted on a nightly basis. Data stored is encrypted - data being transmitted to and from Prophix through a data integration is also encrypted.
Q: What is your approach to customer engagement / adoption outside of the key stakeholders already discussed (i.e. planners and report users)?
A: We can work with your key stakeholders to develop plans around end user adoption - this is typically done as a part of our Continuous Success Package (CSP) Program.
Q: When are your backups running, hourly, daily, weekly. If something is deleted a week ago, and not found out until later, how far can you go back in time?
A: Backups are taken daily, every 6 hours. Backups are kept for 60 days (30 days in standard storage and 30 days in infrequently accessed storage).
Q: Do all reports have to be rebuilt?
A: No, the majority of your reports should migrate to the cloud seamlessly.
Q: After cloud is migrated can reports be moved from on prem to cloud?
A: Once the migration is underway, any further changes in your on-premise instance are not reflected in the cloud and as a result, any changes made would need to be replicated in the cloud instance.
