September 2024 Product Adoption Tip: Copy Dimension Members Between Cubes

Are you in the middle of creating a new cube and are hoping to copy the member structure from a dimension in an existing cube to your new cube without having to manually re-create them?

This is possible using the export dimension along with the import dimension process steps in process manager.

To achieve this:

  1. Run an export dimension on the dimension from the original cube you are trying to copy from. Ensure that the file is saved as .txt format, the “Include header line in file” is selected, and TAB is selected as the Delimiter

  1. Run an import dimension process in your new cube. In the source tab of this process step, choose the file exported from step 1
