Formatting numbers in templates

I have set up a template studio report and I cannot work out how to put brackets around numbers if they are negative. It seems the only choice is a - sign.

We always show negative variances and the like in brackets. None of the options seem to allow for this.

I have copied all of our files over from Smart Client and want to change the look/feel of our templates but it doesn’t seem to accept brackets in numerics.

Has anyone got a solution please?

Try the “accounting” named format from the drop down list.

Yes I did try this but it did not give me an option to show a negative as ( )

I need a negative to show as (1,000) not as -,1,000

Hope that makes sense.

Sorry, I did try this again. I didn’t correctly choose a country eg English (US) in the first instance. I worked out I can then hide the symbol.
