Adding Quarters

Yehhhh … so the VP just asked me for some sales comparisons (actual budget prior year) for the First Quarter. But of course I just went in and I didn’t set up quarters for this database, because I’d never been asked for that data ever before.

Can I add quarters after the fact? I poked around and didn’t see that option anywhere.

If you are referring to adding Quarters in your time dimension after you have built your cube, then you can use Customer members property and Alternate hierarchy. You can have a customer member property called ‘Quarter’ and label first three months as Q1 and so on. After that bring that in as an alternate hierarchy.
Note: You can only use alternate hierarchy to report. You cannot enter data when your report has an alternate hierarchy.
